Learn About Pacing

Effectively pacing can drastically change your race or performance in any event. Whether it's an interval, workout, or race, your pacing strategy should be personalized to you.

Your pacing strategy depends on several things, such as your experience, the distance you cover, the effort you are competing at, and the amount of rest, if any, you're taking.

Running effort is often measured in terms of pace and expressed in units of minutes per mile or minutes per kilometer. Running at specific combinations of paces related to one's fitness can stimulate physiological improvements. The same is true for swimming as it can lead to new fitness levels of adaption.
